- Active Hope: How to Face the Mess We're in Without Going CrazyEvent Description:
The challenges we face in today’s world can be difficult to think about: climate change, warming oceans, mass extinction, inequality, and more. Fear and sadness can immobilize us, but discovering our interdependence on and interconnection with each other and the rest of the Universe can empower us to rise to the challenges facing us all.
This course of offered by Nancy Coiro, mindfulness teacher and practitioner of the Work that Reconnects. We will use small group discussion, vision work, journaling and other activities from Active Hope: How to Face the Mess We’re in Without Going Crazy (Joanna Macy and Chris Johnstone) to orient ourselves to our environment and draw on our collective strength as we envision and create a better future together. Although reading the book is helpful (and encouraged!) it is not necessary to participate.
Classes will be held online via Zoom and you can join by computer, tablet or phone. We will meet the 2nd Tuesday of each month from March 10 through July 14 from 6 pm until 7:30 pm EST. The class is free, but if you make the commitment to attend, please do you best to make it or let me know if you can’t.
