What is the difference between Places, Practitioners, and Events?
Places have business hours and a location which will be added to the Google site map. Address is a required field. Often a place will have multiple practitioners. For example, if you own a yoga studio with several yoga instructors, you would add the studio as a place and the individual instructors would have their bio’s included on the practitioner page. When including individual listings there is a place to “link” the location which will show that the practitioners are part of your location.
Practitioners are individuals offering personal services. If you use a business name you can add the listing as the name of your business. It is a best practice to use the name you want to be found under. For example, my business name is Dancing Lotus, however most people do not know me as my business, so I have my listing as Jamila Blue. If you want to create a separate listing for both your individual name as well as your business that is okay. Just keep in mind that if you run your business out of a location, it should have a separate “Place” listing.
Event listings are for both places and practitioners who have upcoming events. Event listings require an address. When adding a listing, it can be linked to a place and practitioner. This will allow the listings to cross post.
