In the class we will be taking a beginner journey into gentle inversions. Typically any pose in which the heart is above the head can be considered an inversion. Class will start with a slow flow warm up and then we will start to breakdown some physical as well as spiritual benefits of inversions. This an intro class for all levels.Session II: Change your perspective: Invert your practice
Description:
In this class we will be introducing prep poses for intermediate inversions and arm balances. This class will focus on safety and how to open the body and mind as you prepare to invert your practice. Starting with a slow flow to warm up and then focusing on the use of props and prep poses to help shift your mental dialogue as we journey to get upside down. This is an intro class for all levels.Session III: Explore the world upside down: Supported inversions and arm balances
Description:
In this class we will be focusing on getting upside down and spiritual balance. Class will start with a slow flow warm up, preparing the wrists, opening the body, and balancing. We will explore how to stay safe and avoid injury when inverting or arm balancing. With the use of props and the wall for extra support as needed to help us explore the world upside down. This is an intermediate class.Session IIII: Off the wall: Intro and prep for handstands
Description:
In this class we will be setting up an experience to take flight. Starting small and slowly building confidence to get off the wall. Beginning with a slow warm up flow and examining some of the important components of practicing handstands safely. This is an intermediate class.*Disclaimer: Please be aware of some contradictions for yoga inversions. If you have a neck injury, epilepsy, eye problems, a heart condition, or high blood pressure, talk to your doctor beforehand. This inversion workshop is to serve as a series of classes to help guide yogi practitioners on building the confidence to practice safely upside down in a friendly environment. I myself have been practicing inversions for over 7 years. Every time I’m on the mat I learn something new. To be open to the experience. With that said do not expect to be doing full handstands and scorpion poses at the end of this workshop.. But know the intention of this offering is to help show you the path.*
