Gentle seated movement to ease upper body tension and guided mindfulness meditation to support your mental well being.
Research has documented many health benefits of a regular meditation practice including improved memory, reduced stress, increased attention, better sleep, pain reduction, boosted mood, lower blood pressure, lessening of symptoms of anxiety and depression, and increased self-compassion. Join us at SJCPL for a moment of gentle movement and meditation to support our physical, mental, and emotional well being led by Dena Woods of Healing Lab Yoga. Dena is a licensed massage therapist that practices holistic, trauma sensitive therapeutic touch, and is certified in trauma informed yoga, Hatha yoga, restorative yoga, and mindfulness and meditation facilitation. This 30 minute class will include some gentle seated movement to alleviate upper body tension followed by a brief guided mindfulness meditation. These meditation sessions are appropriate for all levels of practitioners and all are welcome.
