1st Day Hike

Start the new year off with a bang. Join a few hundred of your friends for a brisk 1 1/2-hour winter walk on January 1 at 11 a.m. EST at the Potato Creek Nature Center. We’ll be hiking a moderate forest trail with occasional views of the lake. We’ll watch for eagles and winter tracks along the way. Snacks will be served afterwards at Peppermint Hill Recreation Building beside a crackling fire. Bird viewing, live animals, and self-guided craft stations will be available in the nature center from 1-5 p.m.. And if there’s snow, you can try out a pair of our snowshoes. See you on January 1st!
