11:45 am – Michiana Acro Yoga Meet Up

What is Acro Yoga?

Acro Yoga is a partner-based activity that merges traditional yoga with acrobatics. It’s an incredible way to stretch, focus on breathing, ground, connect, and most importantly have fun!

We will open the session with basics as well as helpful tips and techniques. This is an excellent space to try something new. Every time we meet up we all leave having learned something new.

As usual, this will be an all-ages, no experience or partner is needed to meet up (children will need a parent present). We will have a few yoga mats available and the acro mat but feel free to bring your own mat.

No partner?

No problem. We rotate and take turns with one another so you will get a chance to learn and interact regardless. (if desired)

No Experience?

No problem. This is a space for learning and growing together. You might be amazed at all of the things your body can do.

Come check it out!

LET’S PLAY!

ABOUT

Michiana Acro Yoga is a donation-based meetup community. We meet up in different areas around Michiana. We start each jam session by going over the basics of balance, stability, and breath as well as safety tips and tricks. After going over the basics of being a base and/or flyer and both parties are comfortable, the play time begins. The intention of this community is to create a safe space to learn new things, have fun, and release your inner child, all while being present in your body and having a good time.

Ra School of Yoga

Yoga philosophy draws from the concept of five elements (earth, water, fire, air, and ether), and this yoga practice will incorporate these elements to bring balance and harmony to the body, mind, and spirit. We will cultivate a deeper connection with nature and incorporate breathwork in addition to beginner-friendly postures to enhance our overall well-being.

Lauren discovered yoga over a decade ago and immediately loved it as it was the first means she had found to calm and soothe her over-active and anxious mind. Since then, Lauren has practiced yoga throughout three pregnancies as well as discovered and fallen in love with meditation and pranayama practices, which helped her immensely during her long recovery from a severe back injury.
